about MLDC

Marjorie Lewis Dwyer founded Marjorie Lewis Dwyer Consulting (“MLDC”) to address an unmet need in legal services: the availability of premium in-house employment and business law counseling on an as-needed basis.  The concept is analogous to an organization’s need for a fractional share of a corporate jet—ready when you need it, on a regular pre-arranged schedule or to meet unanticipated demand.

Ms. Lewis Dwyer is a practical, business-focused employment lawyer with over twenty years of experience working at top-rated Boston law firms and in senior roles at public companies.  Unlike many employment attorneys, Ms. Lewis Dwyer has served as business counsel and as a member of a senior leadership team, giving her a broad view of business operations and priorities often missing from the experience of other successful employment attorneys.  She is well regarded by clients and colleagues for providing timely, useful counsel across all levels of management and staff on a variety of workplace matters and for her ability to offer solutions that minimize disruption to business operations.  Ms. Lewis Dwyer’s experience spans a broad spectrum of employment issues including wage and hour law, hiring, retention and terminations matters, non-competition agreements and other restrictive covenants, sales force training and compensation, fair employment practices and litigation management.

Prior to forming MLDC in early 2008, Ms. Lewis Dwyer was the Vice President of Legal Services for and a member of the senior leadership team at Deluxe Small Business Services, formerly known as NEBS.  Before joining Deluxe/NEBS, Marjorie was the lead labor and employment attorney for CVS Corporation based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.  She began her career in private practice at the Boston-based law firms of Ropes & Gray and Goulston and Storrs.
